Once a Vaudeville house, the historic Paramount Theatre has hosted performances by such greats as Harry Houdini, Orson Wells, John Philip Sousa and the Marx Brothers since opening its doors in 1915. It now plays host to nationally renowned musical and theatrical performances, including touring Broadway productions. The historic theater also serves as a movie house, premiering many films over the years, including selections from the annual Austin Film Festival. Located in downtown Austin, the Paramount is a less than a block from historic State Theatre.
